What is Ayurveda?
Ayurvedic medicine originated in India and is hailed as the world’s oldest holistic healing system. Everyone is evaluated on a case-by-case basis and treated differently based on their “dosha” (body type), which is determined by several factors, including body temperature and natural hair color.
This Ayurvedic cold treatment is simple, and you’ve likely already had the ingredients around your house. The recipe has three parts: ginger, honey, lemon extracts, salt, and water. You’ll need to add lemon to 200ml of water, a few rock salts, a half teaspoon of Ajwain, drops of ginger extract, and some fresh honey.
Amla is your new BFF for the next 21 days. It’s a super-nutrient fruit packed with vitamin C to help your body fight a nasty cold. Vegans can finally rejoice because they won’t have to choke down any more nasty fish oil pills for omega-3.
Ginger is known to help the body fight off a cold. It’s a potent superfood treatment revered by many experts. Green tea is powerful enough, but add ginger for an immunity-boosting bomb. Another good tea is here.
This is my go-to for an oncoming sore throat. It works from the inside out to help provide a protective coating against future illnesses. You can also use a turmeric mask to get brighter-looking skin. What are you waiting for? Grab your favorite books, a hot drink, and a fluffy blanket, and curl up on the couch now.
When you’re feeling under the weather, sometimes all you want to do is curl up in bed and rest. Don’t skimp on this: light some scented candles, wear a face mask, read a book, drink herbal teas, and whatnot, give yourself some me-time. Here is our self-care routine. Keep your spirits high by doing the little things that you love.
